Carrie Underwood, wore Rock & Republic's "Cary" cropped suit jacket in white , performed "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem of the United States, at pre-game show Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida on Sunday evening, Febuary 7.

Asked to name a favorite team for Sunday's game, Underwood replied, "I hope people don't hate me; I really hate picking sides. But I'll probably be 51 percent rooting for the Saints. I love Sean Payton. He came to a concert. That's where that extra 1 percent comes from."
A Grammy-award winning artist, who will sing the national anthem, was also joking when asked about the cultural significance of the song. Underwood said, "As a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message. And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from Pants on the Ground. And they can pull their pants up ... because it causes all kinds of back problems. I've seen the studies."
In related news, Underwood has landed a supporting role in "Soul Surfer," about Bethany Hamilton, the 19-year-old champion surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13, but has managed to continue competing and winning professional championships.
She will play Sarah Hill, a church youth group leader and a close friend of Hamilton, in the movie which is slated to open this summer.

"But nothing too overblown. It's still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven't been finalized." He admitted that his fiancee would be handling most of the specifics. "As you might expect, Carrie's involved in a lot of the details," he said, adding with a laugh, "I'll just be showing up."
Carrie on her dream dress, she said "I want it to be pretty traditional." She added, "I think I want flowers on it -- not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I've worked with before."
When asked whether have set a date yet, the ferocious singer excitedly replied, "Not officially; we're kind of bouncing a few around."
